Back To School

IMG_1691

September time (ok nearly October time) is apparently making me a little bit sentimental to my younger days… cue this pinny.

I got it on a recent trip to Westfield and it was a totally impromptu purchase but when I saw it, I really liked it. The material is quite silky and soft so it doesn’t resemble those school uniforms you might have had (I didn’t actually have to wear a pinny… maybe this is the reason for wanting one now!).

I got this cute pink collared top for my birthday last year from my best friend (thanks Nat!) and I thought it would go really well with this outfit. Keeping it very girly with my T-Bar shoes and adding a bit of bling, this outfit is ready to go! ;-)

I’m definitely feeling the cold these days… I’m not a brave one that can have my legs out all year round… as soon as it gets a bit colder, the tights or leggings are firmly on!! And a nice chunky knit does wonders as well! (Especially if you have to sit under a vent at work, which seems to constantly blow out cold air… I might need to invest in some fingerless gloves as well soon…!)

These boots are a new addition to my AW wardrobe this year as I’ve been looking at them for well over 2 months but in July when the sun was shining, it didn’t seem right to be buying boots! But in mid August I gave in and purchased them! And I’m very happy I did! They’re the cut out sort that’s very IN these days ;-) so with frilly socks, on their own or with tights they look good! I like that they go with a skirt, dress or jeans! They have them in burgundy and tan as well and I love them too so who knows… ?!

I love a nice berry colour for Autumn, so this cardi is one of my favourites. Teamed with this lace oversize tee and shiny leggings, I think I’m onto a winner!

What do you think?

Studded Monochrome

IMG_1054

Autumn is definitely on its way and when AW comes, I do love a bit of monochrome. This weekend, it was about family and friends so a pretty chilled out Saturday outfit was needed.

I bought this jumper last winter but I love the detail of the studs (even when the studs fall off and you have to painstakingly superglue them back on… but what wouldn’t you do for fashion, eh?!). I like to wear shiny/leather look leggings with a simple knit as it gives it a little more edge and makes it look that little bit more dressy. Usually I add a necklace or something to give an outfit a little more ‘oomph’ (?!), but as the jumper is already studded, I didn’t think it needed it, so instead I wore my little studded shoes, which complete the look in my opinion.

What do you think to monochrome?

Lime Surprise

Dungarees1

So the dungarees come out again! You may have seen them here, and since it’s been pretty sunny (who would have thought!?), I’ve been wearing them quite a bit!

Taken on a sunny Saturday stroll, these bleach denim dungarees go so well with this neon lime lace top and it’s an outfit I’ve worn more than a few times over the summer. The neon colour is so bright that it’s perfect for the sunny weather!

What do you think to the bright twist to the dungarees?

Sand, Sea & Soaking Wet Feet

IMG_0648

This is a quick post to share what we got up to last weekend. During the bank holiday we decided to take a drive down to the coast and explore a little. Shame the weather wasn’t the best, but this is England after all! We had an explore of a little village called Bosham and then went to the beach in West Wittering.

Our day by the coast was nice, even if a little wet! It’s nice to get out of London once in a while and exploring somewhere we’ve not been before was pretty cool. I definitely wore the wrong shoes though! I think they dried out ok! ;-)

What did you get up to on the bank holiday weekend?

Colour Me Neon

IMG_0030

Whilst in Oxford last week, I couldn’t help but to look inside a few shops, where I spotted this little neon number! I usually go for quite muted colours, mainly cream and white with a few pastels thrown in, but this dress caught my attention. It might be because neon is so hot for summer right now, or because I liked the shape of this dress – tshirt style and not too short, with a slight dip hem at the back.

I nearly grabbed a pair of heels for this outfit but then decided that I wanted to dress it down slightly as the colour does all of the talking. I picked my nude studded Zara boots, along with my chunky Topshop bunny necklace and added a few more jewellery pieces – ASOS stacking zig zag rings and a gold bracelet.

I like the contrast of the really bright neon orange and the nude boots, what do you think?

Down The Rabbit Hole

Oxford 1

Last weekend we had a day out in Oxford so I thought it would be good if my new Audrey Meadow Floral Trousers from Oasis came out to play. I recently purchased these beauties for my friend’s hen do, which was a day to night thing and loved wearing them all day! The pastel floral print is just gorgeous!

The setting of Oxford with it’s old buildings, gardens and greenery was actually a perfect fit for this outfit with it’s whimsical feel. I kept the rest of the outfit simple with a white Topshop vest and shoes (both old) and an Alice in Wonderland inspired bunny necklace (also Topshop). As we were there all day, I teamed it with one of my day bags – my beloved Effie Mulberry (similar here).

What do you think to these printed trousers? Do you like the whimsical feel?

Dungarees & Strawberries

IMG_7217

A couple of weekends ago, Paul and I decided to get the most out of the weather and go strawberry picking! It was a lovely sunny day and just the perfect opportunity to get my new dungarees out!

I’ve been near enough living in my dungarees since I bought them, so I have a couple of different outfits styled, some quirky and some more dressy, which will no doubt be featuring on the blog later!

What do you think of the dungaree trend? Have you invested in a pair?
