Fondant Fancy

Feeling a bit like a Fondant Fancy in my lasting pink obsession, but I don’t really mind! It’s keeping me going at the moment as the dark mornings are continuing. I would say I’m pretty ready for spring now…!

Saturday saw the boyfriend and I take a stroll along Hammersmith river with only a few runners and a bit of a chilly wind to keep us company… so much so, that I had to keep hold of my hat pretty tight!

After our morning around Hammersmith, we drove up to see my parents for the afternoon before meeting up with two of my lovely friends and their boys for a Chinese meal. I haven’t been out for a meal back home for a good year or two so it was nice to catch up in our home town!

I wanted to wear something that could transition from day to night… so a knit with a leather look pencil skirt was the best option. The necklace is pretty big and sparkly, but who doesn’t like a bit of sparkle? ;-)

How do you transition from day to night?

The Leather Pencil Skirt

A little while ago I was lusting over a leather (or faux leather) pencil skirt, which I blogged about here. I finally found one!

I love how many ways you can wear a leather look pencil skirt… Dressing it up for a night out or wearing a casual piece to dress it down for day time. On this occasion for a day with family, I dressed it down with a plain striped tee and a cardigan and added my statement necklace and my Fedora hat. The tights and boots are also necessary in this weather!

The skirt is a perfect piece for the Christmas season, which is nearly upon us as you can do the day to night look pretty easily! I will keep you posted on a more dressy look involving this leather look beauty!

Have you caved in to the leather pencil skirt? How do you style it?

Obsession: The Leather Pencil Skirt

It’s been a little while now that I’ve been eyeing up this season’s must have… the leather pencil skirt. I’m not one to usually wear pencil skirts as I tend to class them as an item more in the ‘officewear’ category, however I am slowly changing my mind.

I love how you can style it in so many different ways – with a knit or plain tee for a more casual look or a shirt or an embellished top for a dressed up feel.

I’ve been scouring the internet for the perfect one for a little while and I haven’t quite made up my mind.

Here are a few that I have come across:

Print1. Black Panel Pencil Skirt from Topshop – this one is a leather look skirt but I like the panels.

2. Leather Zip Pencil Skirt by Topshop Boutique – this one is a little more pricey but it is real leather and I think the zip is a nice added detail.

3. High Shine Pencil Skirt by Warehouse – this one is quite simple but the shine gives it that little bit extra.

4. Faux Leather And Ponti Rib Skirt by Warehouse – I like this one with the mix of leather look and ponti as it’s a  little bit different.

Oh the decisions… I’m still looking and I might need to go and try a few on before I decide!

What are your thoughts on the leather pencil skirt?
