I’m still all over festive nails and my bff knows me too well as her Christmas present to me (yes we opened our presents early when we exchanged gifts last week!) was this Nails Inc Snowflake Collection.
The Silver Foil Effect nail varnish surprised me the most as it really does look like foil and it’s so shiny! I used that as a base for the Snowflake glitter topcoat and my nails really do look like it’s snowed all over them! Perfect for my snowboarding trip next week! ;-)
The other colour in the collection is a sort of mauve-beige, which I think will look lovely with a coat of Snowflake on top too, I’ll probably try that next!
Only 2 more sleeps! Anyone else as excited!?
Have a lovely Christmas!
To get into the Christmas spirit (not that I really need to…), I decided to do a festive manicure. As I’m not the best at doing nail art, I got these little Christmas pudding and gingerbread man transfers, a little kitsch, but it’s Christmas and I think they look cute!
I went for the Christmas puds to tie in with my pudding jumper! These were really easy to apply, I just had to cut around each pud, peel it off and with the help of tweezers, apply it to my nails. Then just apply a topcoat and voila!
What do you think, are you a fan of festive nails?
I have been good on the nail varnish front, not buying one for a while, but with the colder season upon us, I have ditched the pastels and started looking for that perfect autumnal shade.
I was looking for a bit of an in-between colour and decided to treat myself to a new OPI beauty. Out of all of the possible shades in the OPI shop, I kept coming back to this one – Koala Bear-y, so it had to be mine and I’ve been wearing it ever since!
What I love about an OPI nail varnish, is how smoothly it goes on and how long it lasts.
I’ve worn it for about 3 nail varnish applications in a row (that’s pretty good since usually I change the colour every time!). It’s gone with every single outfit I’ve worn so far and I think it will go with pretty much anything! And with a name like Koala Bear-y, what’s not to like? ;-)
What do you think to Koala Bear-y? What’s your staple colour for Autumn?
After seeing this image on Pinterest, I wanted to add a bit of sparkle and try it! So to create half moon nails with glitter you need:
1. Base Coat
2. Top Coat
3. A glitter nail varnish, I used Models Own Pink Fizz
4. A coloured nail varnish, I used OPI Pinking Of You
5. Paper Hole Reinforcers (those sticker circles you put on lined paper when they ripped in your folder at school!), I got mine from Sainsburys
Apply your base coat and then your glitter nail varnish.
I apply one coat of top coat on top of the glitter (or base colour) to make sure that when I stick the stickers on, the base colour doesn’t come off with them when I take them off! (Apologies for the messy application haha I like my nails short! It’s a wonder what a cotton bud and nail varnish remover can do eh!? ;-))
You then need to stick one of the circle stickers on each of your nails, and once you are happy with the positioning, apply your top colour.
Wait for this to dry and then carefully peel off the stickers. Apply another top coat to seal it all together and there you go!
You can use whatever two colours you like to create these nails!
What do you think? What nail art have you guys tried?
Happy Friday and hope you have a lovely weekend!
Every so often, (quite regularly), I get the urge to shop… Today was no different! Shopaholic?!
So after a quick whiz around my second home that is Westfield (my local shopping centre), I managed to find a few bits!
I have officially banished the boots and I wanted some new pumps to transition me into Spring! I found these cute Mex Low Vamp Tassel Slippers in Topshop and at £20, they were a bargain!
Next up, I found this nice military khaki green shirt in Pull and Bear and as you will probably get to know, I am one for buttoned up shirts and blouses! I love the gold detail on the pockets and this was another bargain at £17.99!
I have a small weakness for Boots and it isn’t often that I come out of the shop without even a small purchase. I was obviously a sucker for Boots’ marketing today, because as soon as I walked into the shop, BAM… there was a stand with the Sinful Colours nail varnish range, and being a nail varnish addict… I couldn’t resist! I’ve never actually used or even heard of Sinful Colours, but at £1.99 a bottle, I thought I would give it a go. Neon is really hot right now, so I chose the colour ’24/7′ – a neon pink and it really is bright! I can’t wait to try it! And with Boots being Boots, it was 3 for 2 on pretty much everything!
Since buying the Models Own Fruit Pastel colours (see here), I’ve also been hankering to try their new Ice Neon range and picked the Pukka Purple shade. The concept is that you put the bottle in the fridge to keep the neon colour from fading! And my last purchase was the Models Own Nail Art Pen in white.
I’ll keep you posted on how I style and use all of these purchases soon! :)
Hope you’re all having a good week!
With spring seemingly trying to avoid us at the minute, I’ve been trying to get myself into a more colourful spirit! To be totally honest, I’ve been hanging on to wearing darker colours and I haven’t been able to bring myself to buy anything remotely summery or colourful! Until… I saw this new range from Models Own! The ‘Fruit Pastel Collection’. Not only do I love the colours, (apparently they are very me!), they smell amazing!! They are actually scented and come in 5 flavours!
I only allowed myself to buy 3 from the collection as I have an excessive amount of nail varnish, and the boy may possibly not allow me back in the flat with any more! Ha! I’m rocking Strawberry Tart at the minute, but Grape Juice and Apple Pie are next on my list. You do need a couple of coats to get a good coverage so it takes a little while to dry but the end result is good!
