Bring Your Own Sunshine 10x15-01This past week I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog as work has been pretty busy (we’re moving desks soon) and mainly, one of the loveliest ladies I know is leaving the UK to go back home to Australia (not after an amazing 4 month trip around Asia) where she is embarking on an exciting new project with her hubby. So this past week has seen me on secret squirrel missions making her a scrapbook with a few of my other friends from work, plus dinners and drinks throughout the week, finally ending with a tearful farewell yesterday, but it is definitely not a goodbye, but a see you soon! :)

I decided to design a little inspiration quote in honour of Sunny and to the amazing adventure she’s embarking on and to remind myself and maybe you guys, that you can make anything happen!

Happy Monday!

Christmas Gift Guide

PrintI thought since I’ve nearly done all of my Christmas shopping, it’s only fair that I give you guys a hand too! I’ve put together a little gift guide for inspiration for a friend, partner, parent or even for yourself! (One for you, one for me… isn’t that the way it goes?! ;-))

1. You can never go wrong with a pair of cute PJs and these penguin ones from Cath Kidston (top here, bottoms here) are wintery but not too Christmassy! I like the fact that it’s a sweat top, so it will keep your recipient nice and toasty!

2. This Fifi Lapin iPhone case from Iconemesis is a lovely accessory. I love the little raindrops!

3. You know I’m a sucker for Mulberry, although their upped prices are rather upsetting, but I can’t get enough of this radish keyring!

4. I’m totally in love with these limited edition golden monogram mugs from Anthropologie. Definitely wouldn’t mind one for myself!

5. Accessories are always a nice present and the Mollie Hat from Oasis is a nice shape. It helps that it’s a collaboration with Mollie King as well!

6. This Lulu Guinness Glitter Lip Pouch is a beauty. It can be used for anything… make up, a way to organise your bag or even used as a clutch!

7. Festive nails are definitely in… this OPI ‘I Snow You Love Me’ is a lovely frosty looking glitter nail varnish to add a bit of sparkle to your (or a friend’s) outfit!

8. Now here is another item I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on… The Lily Vanilli Sweet Tooth Cookbook. Aside from the actual book looking like it’s good enough to eat, the recipes look amazing! If I don’t find it under the tree this Christmas, I think I’ll definitely be purchasing this one in January!

9. Chocolate is always a safe bet, so these Alternative Mince Pies from Hotel Chocolat are a nice gift. A little bit different to your standard Dairy Milk (not that I’d be complaining either way), but if you would like something a little more special, these are a good shout.

10. Candles are always lovely… they are an everyday luxury (I know I can’t go a night in without lighting candles) and these Yankee Candles are pretty special. The scents are quite strong and sweet but if you find one to your taste, it would be a lovely present. I love vanilla and cupcakes so don’t think you can go wrong with this Vanilla Cupcake one!

I hope this has helped a little with your Christmas lists! Happy Shopping!

Obsession: The Leather Pencil Skirt

Pencil Skirts(All images taken from Pinterest)

It’s been a little while now that I’ve been eyeing up this season’s must have… the leather pencil skirt. I’m not one to usually wear pencil skirts as I tend to class them as an item more in the ‘officewear’ category, however I am slowly changing my mind.

I love how you can style it in so many different ways – with a knit or plain tee for a more casual look or a shirt or an embellished top for a dressed up feel.

I’ve been scouring the internet for the perfect one for a little while and I haven’t quite made up my mind.

Here are a few that I have come across:

Print1. Black Panel Pencil Skirt from Topshop – this one is a leather look skirt but I like the panels.

2. Leather Zip Pencil Skirt by Topshop Boutique – this one is a little more pricey but it is real leather and I think the zip is a nice added detail.

3. High Shine Pencil Skirt by Warehouse – this one is quite simple but the shine gives it that little bit extra.

4. Faux Leather And Ponti Rib Skirt by Warehouse – I like this one with the mix of leather look and ponti as it’s a  little bit different.

Oh the decisions… I’m still looking and I might need to go and try a few on before I decide!

What are your thoughts on the leather pencil skirt?

Wedding Outfit Inspiration

Apologies for the lack of posting in the last week, work’s been pretty manic lately! But anyway… I thought I would do a post on wedding outfits… I’m going to a few weddings/receptions in the next couple of weeks and months so I’ve been trying to figure out what to wear! I’ve got a number of dresses already, but a new one is always so much better! ;) And then there’s the whole thing about ‘is it too short?’, ‘is it appropriate?’… so I’ve trawled the internet and found a couple of outfits that I think could work…

Starting with the first outfit…

1. Photographic Floral Skater Dress from Oasis
2. Daria Pouch in Pear Sorbet from Mulberry
3. Double Snaffle Skinny Belt in tan from Topshop
4. Arch High Heels by Miss KG from Kurt Geiger

I think this dress is gorgeous, the floral print is very Spring/Summer and it’s definitely appropriate for a summer wedding! I would add a skinny belt, this tan one from Topshop is a nice simple addition as you don’t want to over do it! I absolutely love nude heels… and these patent ones from Kurt Geiger (my absolute downfall when it comes to high heels!) are bold but still simple. And to complete the look, you need a cute clutch! I love Mulberry and this small pouch is just big enough to hold all of your essentials! (If your budget doesn’t stretch that far, ASOS have a some nice alternatives.)

The second outfit…

5. Clutch Bag With Double Tassel Zip from ASOS
6. Cut Out Drape Maxi Dress from Oasis
7. Eden High Heels by Kurt Geiger

Again, this dress is stunning (well done Oasis this season!), the cobalt blue is such a nice shade and the cut out detail is simple and elegant. You even get the metallic belt with the dress, which I think works really well. I think less is more with this dress as it will do the talking for you, so I would again team it with nude heels, these ones from Kurt Geiger (again, I know!) are a nice elegant touch. You can be a bit more fancy with the clutch bag, but I quite like it simple, so this ASOS number (in the sale by the way) is a beaut.

I might potentially be purchasing one (or both) of these dresses for the upcoming weddings I’m attending… I’ll keep you posted!

What do you think about these outfits? What do you wear to weddings?!

Hope you’re having a good Wednesday… nearly the weekend(ish)!
