During the week, breakfast consists pretty much of cereal in a cup when I get to work, so at the weekends I like to have a nice breakfast.
One of my faves is pancakes with nutella (and banana if it’s in the house – that is probably the best combination ever!)
Pancakes are so easy to make and all you need is:
100g plain flour
Pinch of salt
And whatever you like on your pancakes – in my case nutella, in my boyfriend’s case lemon and sugar!
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and and make a well in the middle of the flour. Beat the egg and pour it into the well and whisk the egg into the flour.
Start whisking the milk into the mixture until you get a smooth batter. They say to leave the batter in the fridge for an hour but we don’t… we just wanna chow down! ;-)
Heat a pan (non stick is better but if you don’t have one of those, like us, make sure that the pan is on hottt and then the pancakes won’t stick!) and add a bit of butter.
Pour a small ladle of batter into the pan and swirl the pan around to make an even pancake. Cook until it starts to bubble and flip it over. Cook it for about a minute and then place it onto a baking tray and pop it into a warm oven to keep warm while you make the rest of the pancakes! Add a bit of butter into the pan again and repeat!
Once you’ve made all of the pancakes from the batter, serve with whatever filling you like…! (You know you want to try Nutella…!)
Hope you’re all having a nice Sunday!
